[AUCTeX] Force preview-latex to generate black-on-white images regardles of current color theme? |

I usually use a dark theme in Emacs. By default, preview-latex tries
to match the colors of the background and the fonts with the color
scheme, usually resulting in unreadable formulas. Is there a way to
force preview-latex to generate plain black-on-white images? They
wouldn't look pretty when embedded into a dark background, but they
would be readable. The manual mentions preview-transparent-color in
the Preview Appearance group, but playing with those settings I didn't
see any change in behavior.
Much thanks,
