Hi, how do I set the equivalent of TEXINPUTS in AucTeX? I am unable to
compile or preview a file that inputs a second file which is in my
~/texmf folder (which is what TEXINPUTS is set to). I read about
master files at
http://www.gnu.org/software/auctex/manual/auctex/Multifile.html#Multifile,
visited the included file and set the master file to be the main
document. I can compile the main file OK from the terminal but when I try
to preview in AucTeX I get this in *messages*:

Running `Preview-LaTeX' on `main' with ``latex  "\nonstopmode\nofiles
\PassOptionsToPackage{active,tightpage,auctex}{preview}\AtBeginDocument
{\ifx\ifPreview\undefined\RequirePackage
[displaymath,floats,graphics,textmath,sections,footnotes]{preview}
[2004/11/05]\fi}" "\input" main.tex''
