Those correspond to OSS (or ALSA's OSS emulation), which alsa-xmms
doesn't use. Check the options for snd in /etc/alsa/modutils/0.9;
my system, which allows group audio (29) to access the devices (in
/dev/snd) has
options snd major=116 cards_limit=4 device_mode=0660 device_gid=29 device_uid=0
