Rewrote the shadow code today. It's committed and working! I even
enhanced it to allow multiple shadows per tile (as we will certainly
need that once there is more than a single character walking around).

See the first two screenshots for what it can do and the final shot
for the limitations that are still there. I.e., I'm working with the
rectangular object bounding boxes, so there will be glitches once
non-rectangular objects are involved. I hope people can live with that
(for now).

Before I forget, best to do a full rebuild after CVS update. I didn't
at first and ended up hunting a bug that wasn't really there :-/.


With the shadow back, I think most of the features that I had
envisioned for the alpha 3 release are complete. I am willing to
forget about map saving/loading and do that together with the map
editor.

That means, unless somebody really wants something included that is
not there yet (GUI?), I would prepare a source release tomorrow and
build some binaries over the course of the next week.
