Hi.

You can add a beep to grub that will be played before the boot.

You need to edit the /etc/default/grub file and uncomment the following
line:
GRUB_INIT_TUNE="480 440 1"

After that, you need to generate the grub files.
In my distro I use the following command but you need to check ifyou use
a distro different of mine.

grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Currently I am using arch as my primary distro.

Hi,

It's not so hard actually, once you add the beep. Because once beep
added, just remember that if you don't do anything, it boots GNU/Linux,
otherwise press down arrow key twcce to boot Windows. It's what all my
customers do and seem to like.

The speech synth project in DRUB is an old project, as well as this of
inserting braille drivers in it. It's not impossible, but the maintainer
hasn't accomplished this yet, although interested in this topic.

Regards,
