Hi John,

you must be confused. Your orion's serial port should be used to
communicate with the PC's serial port through applications that use
hamlib (see http://hamlib.sourceforge.net/app.html for a list of
applications).

cwdaemon uses a serial or parallel port to switch the keyer input of
your transceiver, that's the jack where the straight key goes. In case
your transceiver does not transmit automatically when the key goes down,
a PTT switch is provided.
