Hi Eric,

Watch out with serial port powered CI-V interfaces. Your best bet with 
those is to use the rig daemon, which keeps the circuit powered 
continuously.

Secondly, make sure you turn 'transceive mode' off. It causes CI-V bus 
collisions, and as a result, slow response.
