Details:

If channel name written with wide characters (japanese or chinese) truncation
fails. 

Full channel name: 
#おもしろネタ速報 
with truncation set to buffers.look.name_size_max = 14 
#おもしろ06+

Truncating to 14 wide charaters is no an option too. That's too long. It
should truncate to name_size_max / 2.
