I've been implementing Unicode support - have a workable configuration for

the task than to get sidetracked into other programs).

Good to hear as I just hit my first (very minor) issue on this front.

The apache installation on Fedora 7 defaults to expecting everything
to be UTF-8 encoded and it took me quite a while to get it to work
with my current ISO-885099-1 as I use with vile at the moment.

It's been a minor annoyance for some time - editing the UTF-8 scripts
for dialog was about all I needed, but recently (starting last winter), people are sending mail with UTF-8. I'd have done this early last year,
but $dayjob ate all of the time. (Actually I have more use for Unicode
in $dayjob, so that's another motivating factor).
