The uisp code should be essentially the same as the STK500, since these 2 programmers use exactly the same protocol and almost the same firmware (identical?). If you just want a programmer for ISP work then buy the AVRISP, if you require high voltage parallel programming of devices then buy an STK500. If uisp doesn't support a feature i'm sure the team will ensure it does!
