# /etc/rc.d/init.d/nfslock status
lockd (pid 1185) is running...
rpc.statd (pid 1630) is running...
I tried editing, creating, copying, moving files remotely, and everything
worked perfectly.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but tpop3d should check for any locking mechanism,
and I am sure it supports dotfile locking, which has no reason not to
function.

This is very interesting but I think I do not have the same problem. My
/var/lib/nfs/statd/sm directory has all the (supposedly) right privileges,
and rpc.statd is already working.
Thanks again.
