Nice too read that work on the documentation is going on.
BTW I am still waiting for an answer from address@hidden
about notifications from doc-cvs.

Was it really necessary to create a new primitive for this? A mere
stylesheet function would have done the job.
Or is the primitive-related cruftiness deemed less important than
transition problems caused by functions (explicit 'apply' nodes in
external document format) because most primitives on the verge of
being "reorganized" out of the core?
