It can be got round with a spot of scripting..

.. then  again, there are a lot of tweaks that could still be applied to the
various routines comprising the Swftools tools suite.   However, as I
am sure you are well aware, there's a distinct lack of a maintainer to
drive things forward.  The community, such as it was, didn't seem keen
to get
involved either!
