Under Linux and using the page ( -p ) and verbose (-[v][v] ) switches, i.e.

  pdf2swf -vv -T 9 -G -p 1 -o p1.swf 2010*.pdf

it bombs out during the font rendering.  I am getting this sort of thing..

For page 1:

-- FATAL: Out of memory (while trying to claim -1564826896 bytes)

( which would probably explain the 'hangs' under Windows. )

for pages 2-4

'This file is too complex to render- SWF only supports 65536 shapes at once'

Not sure whether these errors are indicative of the issue or not.  Could 
probably
be alleviated by undercooking trather than overcooking the graphics?  Matthias 
may
have other ideas.

Your other files probably have similar issues.  If you are up to it, try some 
yourself
with various levels of verbose, -v, and -p for individual page ranges.
