i think the spaces are not included in the swf, it's the same problem i had when i wanted to copy/paste text from swfs.

it doesn't happen with all pdfs, i think only with the ones using null characters as spaces. adobe products treats them like spaces, but xpdf doesn't. i wrote to derek (mr. xpdf) if he could fix this but didn't get an answer.

i doen't know anything about c-coding, is anyone here who is smart enough to do this?

Are you certain that the SWF file actually does contain the spaces?

SWFs are tightly compressed, which means that everything that's not
needed for display is removed- and since space chars are invisible,
they're a likely candidate.
