[Swftools-common] Pdf2swf not respecting mediabox

Subject: [Swftools-common] Pdf2swf not respecting mediabox

In relation to an old posting to this list:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/swftools-common/2004-12/msg00033.html

I am using pdf2swf (latest Windows binary build of 26/6/2006) to convert
a PDF, but the resulting SWF has crop marks and registration marks along
the top and left sides. These are correctly cropped out when viewing the
PDF in Adobe Reader. I presume that these are hidden objects that are
outside the mediabox. However pdf2swf is incorrectly including these. It
also allows me to see that certain other elements on the page extend
beyond the mediabox, presumably these are 'bleeds' so that printing
works well. If the crop marks were not there, I wonder whether pdf2swf
would correctly trim these bleeds to the mediabox, or if this would be a
further problem (or is actually causing the crop marks to show...)

This is going to be a bit of a showstopper for me if I can't find a way
around it unfortunately, so any ideas and comments are very welcome.

Regards

Sam
