I am using PNG files because they behave better when the movie is resized.
File size is important I agree with you, but graphical quality is more
important for me.

A little off topic but.....

Why are you importing this as a png to Flash?  I only bring in pngs if they 
will allow me to have transparencies that I could not otherwise obtain.
Would 
not a jpg with some compression be much smaller? I can compress your image
to 
about 80KB from 381KB. I know it is not what your were asking but it just
may 
bring your presentation down in size considerably.
