hi, i'm in a bit of a mess and wondering if anyone can help.
we've been trying to get jpeg - swf conversion activated on our clients server
for a while but the isp has finally decided that they're not going to install
the ming php module we asked for.
going into the server through ssh i find the situation gets worse when i find
out i don't have permission to compile from source (fair enough on a shared
server) so i can't even produce a dynamically loaded version of ming.so that
works. i extracteed an rpm based binary of ming.so but got a "Unable to
initialize module Module compiled with ..." error - the only solution being to
recompile my lovely binary. so i'm back against the wall again.
i was wondering if anyone had used swftools through php (an exec() call) -
particularly jpeg2swf - and if it works. using this package i figure that at
least i won't have the module syncing problems that i'm having with the ming
module.
and _if_ it works if someone with access to a linux box* has a working binary
lying around - preferably statically linked.
supposedly the client's coming in for training sessions on the 20th... gulp.
yours sweatily,
Garry
*i686 - no idea of the dist, 'uname -a' just returns 'Linux'.
