Dear Alex,
Thanks for the prompt response unfortunately it still does not work. The version of CYGWIN now on the Web does not install yet a version downloaded in 2002 (CYGWIN-B20) installs but does not run giving the following error messages:
Tix Init Error
Can't find a usable Init.tcl in the following directories:
E:/cygnus/cygwin-b20/H-i586-cygwin/bin/library E:/cygnus/cygwin-b20/H-i586-cygwin/bin/library E:/cygnus/cygwin-b20/library e:/swarm-2.1.1/packages/tcl8.0/tix4.1 e:/swarm-2.1.1/packages/tcl8.0/lib/tix4.1 E:/cygnus/cygwin-b20/H-i586-cygwin32/lib/tix4.1 e:/swarm-2.1.1/packages/tix4.1/library e:/swarm-2.1.1/packages/Tix4.1/library
This probably means that Tix wasn't installed properly.
while executing
"error $msg"
(procedure "init" line 55)
invoked from within
"init"
and
A search of the harddisk revealed that the file cygwin1.dll exists in the following three directories
C:\TEMP\bin
E:\swarm-2.1.1\bin
E:\cygnus\cygwin-b20\H-i586-cygwin32\bin
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Stephen Ongaro

Try the lowercase version: "make". Cygwin (like Unix) is case
sensitive.
