I had a similar issue. Heatbugs works fine on my desktop running windows XP,
but crashes on my laptop running windows XP. The issue for my laptop was the
probemaps. Open ObserverSwarm.m for heatbugs and comment out anywhere where
you find:

CREATE_ARCHIVED_PROBE_DISPLAY( anything )

You won't get probes working, but you will be able to execute the program and
watch it.

Hope that works for you as well, solved my problem, but I'm working in
Objectvie C.

If anyone knows how to fix the the probe map code so it doesn't cause certain
types of XP to crash, I would love to know how.

Abran
