Finally I have made available on the Swarm development site at
http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/swarm a new set of binaries for MacOS
X.

This is now a fully functional Swarm installation supporting Java and HDF5.

More details of the packages to download are contained in the
README-Download file on the Files page of the web site.

The binaries should run on any computer which supports MacOS X 10.2.x.

Users wishing to recompile Swarm libraries optimised for their system can
do this by compiling the current CVS source code using the PB project
supplied. They will need the the support libraries from binaries and gperf
which can be found among the pre-release Darwin 7/MacOS X 10.3 code at
http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/7.0b1/.

To compile the packages provided there:
Expand the tar ball.
setenv MAKEFILEPATH /Developer/Makefiles
cd into the top directory of the package
make install

This will build and install the package in /tmp/packagename/Release/.
to install just
sudo ditto /tmp/packagename/Release/ /.

Be aware that /tmp is recreated on each reboot.

Please report successes and failures to this list.
Enjoy
