I don't know if by 'simulation data' you mean simple data streams or
more complex objects. If it is the former, currently I collect all the
data sampled at certain time step in an repository-object and save it
in an hdf5 file, as described in the following thread:

But actually, there are some recent add-up's that may facilitate this job:

I don't have a working example right now for the first option :-( I
could try to write something if it is necessary.
