Hi Matthew,
Do you have Xpm library installed? If not, or you are not sure,
you can download it from:
ftp://ftp.santafe.edu/pub/swarm/needed-software/xpm-3.4h.tar.gz
Once you install xpm, rerun configure with option:
--with-xpm=/usr/local/X11
and finally run make
