gcc2.7.2 on mklinux

Sorry for the newbie question, but any help would be appreciated...

I am getting ready to install Swarm on mklinux. In an Oct 6 note in the
archives, Ted Belding had indicated that it was necessary to apply some
patches and recompile gcc for objective C to work. Is it necessary to
patch gcc 2.7.2 as well? Can I use the same patches as with gcc 2.7.1?
