on my quest to make ECL the perfect distribution vehicle for stumpwm, I
removed the runtime dependency to ASDF in the module system. This means
that an ECL-built stumpwm does not need a functional lisp setup at
runtime (besides

This code currently lives in my stumpwm repository. I would ask any one
(even those that are not interested in ECL) to test it, as I intend to
push this to the main tree if no one complains.

The only user-visible change is a new config option --with-contrib-dir
that is per default set to contrib/ in your source directory.

How to test:
git clone git://
cd stumpwm
sh && ./configure your-options-here

For ECL pass --with-lisp=ecl and an appropriate --with-ppcre
parameter. Due to some unfortunate interactions with ASDF, it may be
that the resulting binary will end up somewhere in ~/.cache as
stumpwm-mono (will be fixed).

Any feedback is appreciated!
