I'm currently trying to migrate from xmonad to stumpwm. As part of my setup in xmonad I have several dzen status bar instances showing various information at the top and bottom of my screens. I'm using a dual head setup through the nvidia driver with Xinerama hints enabled. This works well in xmonad.
The same setup in stumpwm doesn't work as the client windows cover up the dzen status bar windows. If I add a -dock option to dzen stumpwm correctly tiles windows leaving the dzen status bars showing. However when I do this I loose the ability to position the status bars with a -geometry switch. They seem to appear at the top of the screens only. Is anyone else running dzen status bars in a multi-head stumpwm setup and able to position them without stumpwm ignoring them when tiling windows?
Worst case if there was a way of setting a border region on the top and bottom of my screens this would do as a workaround. Is this possible in stumpwm? Xmonad supports this from when it didn't dynamically work with statusbars.
