What is ,,same loudness'' of two voices? I know what you
think about, but I don't think that can be precisely defined.

If you would like to develop some methodics how to do that
(either as instructions to synthesizer authors or as some
volume normalization extension to some audio backend),
I would be interested to look at it.

I think it is complementary to the original requirement.
The original requirement was to be able to make voices
louder than default, and that makes sense for anyone.
Further, most users use only one TTS backend, and most
of the time only one or a couple of voices. They still want
to manage the volume.

So do you propose to rescale the volume from all synthesizer to the
volume of the most quiet TTS in use?
