The registry is a mapped_array of MappedRegistry objects that exist in shared
memory, and this is in "/dev/shm/sipwitch.regs".  Is it possible you do not
have /dev/shm?

I may be away the next few weeks, as I have been kept busy elsewhere.  But I
would suggest looking at what happens in the create call for shared memory, 
back in ucommon.
