Follow-up Comment #1:

Hello Chris,

Thank you for submitting a new project to host on GNU Savannah.

To host a project on GNU Savannah, it must comply with the hosting
requirements:
http://savannah.gnu.org/register/requirements.php
http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/HowToGetYourProjectApprovedQuickly/

The most important one is the requirement for the code to be Free-Software, as
in "Freedom", by having a Free-Software license.

It seems that "insight3dng" is not Free Software, because it uses a library
called "SIFT", which is non-free.
The SIFT license file (in ./sift/LICENSE.ucb) clearly state that this library
is not free, restricted to academic, non-commercial use only, and is further
restricted by possible patents.

As a side note, this puts the entire project "insight3d" in a problematic
licensing situation, because the SIFT license is incompatible with the GPL
license, under which the rest of "insight3d" is released.

Regardless of the "insight3d" situation, the code of "insight3dng" as in its
current form can not be hosted on GNU Savannah.

If you wish to continue and fork "insight3d" and host the code on GNU
Savannah, I'd recommend the following:

1. Carefully inspect which libraries are used by the code. There are other
included libraries besides "SIFT" (e.g. "ann", "daisy", "sba", perhaps others)
- please
verify that each library uses a Free-Software license, and one that is
compatible with GPL.
To see which licenses are compatible, consult the following page:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html

Libraries (or any individual source code file) which have an incompatible
license must be removed.

2. Please provide a detailed list of all the libraries used and their
license.
Seems some libraries are LGPL, while others are GPL, etc.
The license for the project must be appropriate (you've entered AGPLv1 - which
I assume is not the correct license).

4. Please ensure that mentions of "Linux" are changed to "GNU/Linux" if they
refer to the operating system as a whole (as opposed to the actual kernel).

5. Please provide a tar ball with the updated files, instead of a URL linking
to a download page at an external website.

Once the above items are set, we can continue with the project submission and
evaluation.

regards,
 - Assaf
