==== Description: ====
Chrony is a pair of programs which are used to maintain the accuracy of the
system clock on a computer. The two programs are called chronyd and
chronyc. Both are written in C.
Chronyd is a background (daemon) program, which can be started at boot time.
Chronyc provides a user interface to chronyd for monitoring its performance
and configuring various settings.
Chrony can be used to keep your computer clock in step with the true time
(actually UTC) obtained from the international network of NTP servers, and/or
to keep a network of computers in time with one another using the NTP
protocol. It also can serve as an NTP server.
==== Other Software Required: ====
libc6, libreadline5
==== Other Comments: ====
We must move because sunsite.dk is going to stop hosting projects. See
<http://chrony.sunsite.dk/> for more information. The primary author of
Chrony and current project administrator is Richard Curnow <address@hidden>.
Chrony is currently included in several GNU/Linux distributions, including
Debian. I am the maintainer of the Debian Chrony package. The project has
existed for more than 10 years.
