It can index and search filenames, documents, chat logs, mail data and
other.
Some other tool eg beagle can do these, but beagle can't support CJK well
enough.
Cuttlefish Desktop Searcher will supplys this gap

Cuttlefish once was called pycds. The source package can be found in
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pycds

Other Software Required:
------------------------
  Depends: python, python-sqlite, python-gtk2, python-gnome2,
python-gnome2-extras, python-glade2

External programs: catdoc, xlhtml, html2text, poppler-utils

When it index a PDF, the external program poppler-utils may need
xpdf-chinese-simplified or cmap-adobe-gb1

All of these were in Debian GNU/Linux.
