Description:
------------
SCSS is a Scheme module for GNU Guile that provides an API for parsing,
querying, and emitting style information in the Cascading Stylesheet format
defined by the W3C (http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/). SCSS is designed to work
alongside Oleg Kiselyov's SXML module to retrieve style information for
matching nodes in an XML document, but can also be used to perform simple
string-based queries on stylesheets (though certain CSS language features will
be unavailable under this approach). SCSS does not perform any type of
layout; rather it is intended for use by libraries and applications that need
to look up style information in order to do their own layout, such as web
browsers and document formatters.
Other Software Required:
------------------------
SCSS depends on GNU Guile as a Scheme interpreter.
SCSS also depends at build time on Dominique Boucher's Scheme LALR parser
generator (http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~boucherd/) and Danny Dube's SILex
Scheme lexer generator (http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~dube/), both of which are
released under the GPL and distributed with SCSS.
