Description:
------------
  The Xyria:DNSd is a Nameserver and part of the Xyria-Project
(http://xyria.doomed-reality.org). It is written an C and its
main-goal is to be extremely fast. The DNSd is easy to configure
and does not depend on Bind.

DNSd is IPv6 ready and supports only the most important kinds
of resource records (A, AAAA, MX, PTR and so on).

Also supported is load balancing via round-robin.

The Server can run

* as caching-only server
* as local DNS without forwarding (this is extremely secure because
  DNSd doesn't accept responses and doesn't forward querys on this way
  and needs round 50 percent less time than Bind would take)
* as normal DNS-Server with local database and normal forwarding with
  cache



Other Software Required:

  DNSd's configuration depends on flex and bison.

  The project is already listed in freshmeat.net and sourceforge.net. But
someone told me about savanah today. It is much faster in loading page-content
than sourceforge.
