Follow-up Comment #2, sr #109385 (project administration):

I don't know if this is the problem or not but new mailing lists get created
by an hourly cron task.  The web interface puts the new mailing list into the
queue for creation.  Then once an hour a cron task processes the queue and
creates the lists.

Which means that if you created the list in the web interface and then sent
email to it before the cron task ran to process the queue and create it then
at that time mail to the mailing list will bounce.

Not sure that is the problem here but it is one of the typical problems often
seen.
