Follow-up Comment #6, sr #105020 (project administration):

So, id-utils or idutils is not used consistenly.

It is possible to make aliases so as to seemlessly migrate the project to one
name or the other.

It won't be possible to make an alias for the savannah project itself
though.

Project name needs to be consistent.

Make your choice and contact us :)

Services to check:
- savannah.gnu.org/p/idutils
- mailing lists
- www.gnu.org/s/idutils
- CVS repository
- ftp/alpha.gnu.org/gnu/idutils

It is a mess.
The release names until now have been
id-utils-version.tar.gz .

But then there's http://www.gnu.org/software/idutils,
http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/idutils and possibly
other idutils references in the docs.

But the fun does not end here :)
On alpha there's ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/id-utils, and
then ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/id-utils.

I was beginning to change everything to idutils in
order to align with
binutils, coreutils, fileutils, mailutils, findutils,
sysutils, textutils and friends.

If you generally agree with this groundbreaking
project change,
could someone contact the gnu admins to rename
direcories on ftp and alpha?

Thanks,

CLaudio
