This bug is fixed in the CVS, as you noticed, which is not
going to be installed without a testing period, so it is not
going to happened today, but is planned to happen soon, say
in November.
I do not believe at all that this bug causes major trouble
("big deal", to use your words), so it does not justify any
specific hurry -- you'll have to live with it for the next week.
I close this support request which can be sum up as "please
update your copy", which is something we'd love to do and
which is something which is planned to happen soon.

https://savannah.gnu.org/my/ redirects to a 404 when
you're not logged in. I'm told that bug is fixed in
the code (you just need to add "https://" in front of
an URL, big deal) but still not online. This is
becoming increasingly annoying over time (and was
reported five months ago as bug #3819).
