The only Savannah person who has been handling git requests for some
months now is Bob Proulx, and he is away for a week or so.

Eric, any chance you could get your feet wet with this one?

I was away from keyboard and network for some weeks...sorry.
Just getting in right now.

 
Alternatively, Michael, any chance you could find time to take care of it?

Anyhow I think that the opinion on using git commit --amend was right.
