Hi!

I am writing because there have been project submissions which the submitter only wants to use for trying Savannah out.  My question is how do we treat these submissions.  In the past I have approved test projects when the user uploaded some sample code to the tracker.
Should we go on with this approach or do you  have further thoughts about this?

All the best,
Aljosha

Hi!

I was about to ask the same question after I found this submission https://savannah.gnu.org/task/?12531, which seems to be an exercise on C++ programming.

Browsing the list archives, I found a somewhat related question http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/savannah-hackers-public/2009-08/msg00051.html.

Personally, I find it very useful to keep my exercises on Python programming in revision control and use bug and task trackers for learning more about software development. I don't use Savannah for this though, but I'd love to. People who start with these kinds of small projects and exercises could find it easier later to contribute to other projects already hosted in Savannah or keep using Savannah for their future, awesome projects. Plus, it's a good thing to grow here in Savannah because we are surrounded by people who's committed to freedom.
