Excellent idea. Unfortunatly, I tried that last night. :) It appears to
not only be depreciated, but no longer seems to work. Setting rootflags
to 0 didn't make a difference. (rdev -R /mnt/floppy/vmlinuz 0)
I think I found the answer, and I should have new images shortly. It
appears the change is here:
address@hidden init]# ls /usr/src/linux-2.4.18-4/init
do_mounts.c main.c version.c
address@hidden root]# ls /usr/src/linux-2.4.9-31/init/
main.c version.c
do_mounts.c does some new and interesting things.
Among them is mounting the initrd image read only.
