Do you have the same difficulty if you try to install via the official
Red Hat installer?

Please try the latest miniconda release, and let us know how that works?
Watch as the machine boots for error messages. I have an older machine
that has one disk which refuses to play nicely unless dma is disabled.
This should be seen during boot as messages about dma timeouts. (I
believe they echo to the screen, at any rate.) You may want to try
booting with the command line 'linux updates nodma'. There is no need to
specify the 'text' boot option, miniconda has been patched to always
default to text mode.

You could also try the slinky installer as well.

Both are available from download area at:
http://freesoftware.fsf.org/download/rule/
or my server:

Hope that helps,
