perhaps you could explain why you need to run rdiff-backup chrooted ?
maybe, there are other ways  to workaround your "problem" !?

It looks like cx_freeze is used to create standalone executables from python programs ...
i`m not sure, but will any python compiler (or whatever) create _real_ standalone executables ?

I am placing rdiff-backup into a jailed/chrooted environment where it is
impossible to allow access to, or even have the presence of, python
itself.

So I need a standalone rdiff-backup.

It looks like cx_freeze is used to create standalone executables from
python programs ... does anyone have a recipe or HOWTO to do this ?  Has
anyone here ever done it ?

Comments / suggestions ?
