Ben,

I have it working in cygwin (0.11.3 + cvs librsync).  

I appreciate what you've put together.

I want to deploy to a fair number of win2k servers running ms-sql, so I don't 
want to deploy python to all of them.

That is definitely my problem, not a rdiff-backup issue, so I'm not complaining.

I'll keep you informed, and may ask for help getting it to compile on a native 
win32 python interpreter.  

It appears that py2exe is not cygwin compatible.  

(This might be even better and work with cygwin:  
http://www.mcmillan-inc.com/install1.html)

I'll be trying both tomorrow.
