[RP] CVS newbie... quick walk through?

Hi

I am running ratpoison 1.1.1, have been for some time... I keep seeing
nice updates going into CVS but no tarball release, so I'd like to
update with CVS

If I understand correctly I do this: 

cvs -d:pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/ratpoison login

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/ratpoison co
ratpoison

I did this and checked out the CVS stuff, but the configure script
appears to be missing? What have I missed?
