[qvm86-devel] Crash with mepis and 2.6 kernel

Hello,

I have attempted using qvm86 for the first time today (using a CVS
checkout from today and qemu 0.7.1). When attempting to run the MEPIS CD
using the 2.6 kernel, qvm86 crashes after only a few seconds causing
qemu to seg-fault. The problem seems reproducible. The host system is
running 2.6.12.3 compiled for i686.

The command used for running qemu was:
qemu -hda images/SimplyMEPIS-3.3.1-1.qcow -hdb images/tmp.2g.ext2.qcow
-cdrom iso/SimplyMEPIS-3.3.1-1.iso -boot d -monitor stdio -k en-us

The output from the kernel message log is attached.

Other distributions boot (such as Ubuntu 5.04 or MEPIS using the 2.4
kernel), however may applications run inside the emulator crash and
qvm86 often outputs the message "iomapped page" (although I do not know
if that message is related to the crashing applications).
