Subject: [Qemu-devel] slirp: question about using SMB on windows host with linux guest

Hello-

I am trying to shares files between Windows host and Linux guest using slirp’s
built-in SMB server.
I start QEMU 2.9.0 using the following:

C:\Program Files\qemu>qemu-system-i386.exe -readconfig
\Users\mfonnemann\qemu.cfg -net nic -net user,smb=\Users\mfonnemann\smb

I then try to mount the SMB share first with 10.0.2.4:

address@hidden:~# mount -t cifs //10.0.2.4/Users/mfonnemann/smb tmp -o
user=mfonnemann
                    Password:
                     CIFS VFS: Error connecting to IPv4 socket. Aborting
operation
                     CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -113
                    mount error 113 = No route to host
                    mount: mount.cifs failed with status -1

And then with 10.0.2.2:

address@hidden:~# mount -t cifs //10.0.2.2/Users/mfonnemann/smb tmp -o
user=mfonnemann
                    Password:
                     CIFS VFS: Unknown RFC 1002 frame

                     CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13
                     CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13
                    mount error 13 = Permission denied
                    mount: mount.cifs failed with status -1

Regarding RFC 1002 frame, I see the following when using “dmesg”:

CIFS VFS: Unknown RFC 1002 frame
                     Received Data: : dump of 36 bytes of data at 0xf71400c0

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you very much.

Mark.
