If suffix is NULL, at least we should do nothing in the loop.

How about this one?

                   if (!suffix) {
                        break;
                   } else (i->suffix && strcmp(i->suffix, suffix)) {
                        continue;
                   }

This is why I added "assert(booindex >= 0 || suffix != NULL);" on
above.
