I actually don't think introducing IOTHREAD made Windows a second class citizen, since it was left as a non-default choice for years. People care about IOTHREAD now only because (after years) there is serious thought about making it the default.
I'm sure that if you add such a killer feature that is TCG-only, KVM people will try to support it in a shorter timeframe.
