I tried to send this a couple of days ago, but I haven't seen it get through to
the list. This re-send is re-diffed against the latest svn version, since there
was a small patch breakage due to cirrus vga changes in the days since my last
send attempt.
This version handles defaults differently, takes the sparc case into account,
removes the artificial limit on linear frame buffer size with std vga. It also
changes the way the selection of virtual video adapter is handled internally,
replacing the multiple mutually exlusive *_vga_enabled variables with a single
vgahw_model var. At least to my taste, it makes things more tidy, and I think
is better suited to the potential situation with a growing number of emulated
adapters. Looking forward to comments & testing :)
