-1 on linux host, 98 guest, qemu is twice faster with -pci -cirrusvga.
What a good news !
You MUST run the hardware detection (the long one). this is only after that
that the PCI bus has been found, the pci network, and 3 or 4 devices on the
"motherboard".
the problem is that if someone only run the "short" hardware detect (plug and
play only I think), he could think the cirrus has been found, because the
system do install a basic graphic card (standart vga, 16 color).
I first did not want to run this hardware detection, because I thought it was
going to crash.
moreover, if I try to return to "no pci, no cirrus", the 98 install is broken
(for ever ?).
tell it to new users before it happens.
-2 Realtech PCI network works perfectly for me.
(about 2Mb/s, using samba)
I'm a happy man...
