Hey Reinhard, (and everybody on the list)

1. We should really offer a better descriptions of the lists. Also
create an ANNOUNCE list, where we only send news that is important (like
new releases, new features added, important bugs that have been fixed,
etc. . .) These lists should be listed in the FAQ with their
descriptions.

2. We should create a BUG list, so that the DEVEL is exclusive for
development issues. . . . The BUGS need to be confirmed. We really need
to think up of some solution so that we minimize the amount of repeated
bug reports. (not that we have many yet!)

3. How about a Links section as well? I have a great number of
interesting links that people can follow. We should add them to the
page! I'll send my suggestions to the list, when I get time to compile
the list.

Other than that, the FAQ looks great! Very informative! The only section
that is weird is the:

Why Protux chooses ALSA ?

ALSA vastly offers superiority in dealing with professional sound cards,
when compared to OSS. Protux internal Bus routing engine uses it to
offer a professional way to create multitrack projects, by accessing
multiple sound cards smoothly.

But ALSA benefits are still little in Protux... ALSA documentation is
little and superficial. The few tutorials on programming says something
like "Since I believe you shouldn't use ALSA, here is only the basic
concepts. now forget them and use JACK". Jack is great, but there are
projects that decided to use ALSA directly, and good programming docs
would be very usefull. So Protux ALSA support is being given along the
learning of ALSA API , even without good docs, by making hard tests (and
get many errors).

My suggestion is it be rewritten to this:

Why Protux chose ALSA?

ALSA offers a vastly superior interface for Professional Sound Cards,
when compared to OSS. Protux's internal BUS Routing Engine uses it to
offer an effective way to create multitrack projects, by accessing
multiple sound cards smoothly. It also offers some features that are
necessary when dealing with professional recording.

But Protux still benefits very little from the ALSA API. This is because
the ALSA Documentation is very scarce, and superficial. Basicaly it
suggests that programmers interface with JACK. Unfortunaly, a project
such as this one, which needs a great deal of control over the Sound
Card, needs direct access to the ALSA API. So, Protux ALSA support is
being implemented along with the learning of the ALSA API, even without
good docs, by trial and error.

Anyway. Great job!
Fabio.
